Tuesday 27/1/09 What small dfw things have you done today???

:DWhen we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Today i will:
  • check online banking -
  • update spreadsheets
  • move money to savings
  • storecupbpard meals
  • make a loaf in breadmaker
  • laundry hokey cokey for OH
  • ironing for me
  • reduce, reuse,recycle one thing -
  • sparkle -star socks today
  • find time for swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership
Good morning everyone, got to rush this morning have my area manager dropping in and office is still in the middle of shredding and sorting so need to go and clear it up a little before she arrives.
Hope you all have a great day, hugs to anyone feeling poorly, and welcome to any new posters.

Will try and catch up at lunchtime:D :D
Reduce,re-use, recycle.

    Yay I am second :j

Hello to everyone who posts today.

    Today I have/will.....
    breakfast and lunch from home

go to the gym after work, lift in, bus back

try not to spend any money at work (although I do get a free latte - might use that on Friday as a treat)

I am not doing any overtime today, as I am feeling really tired and I cant justify it at the moment

look at my debts, and project what I would need to save to make a lump sum payment towards them. I am aiming to get a debt figure of £9,999 by the end of the year - I just need to make an overpayment of £2k

I think that is about it - take care everyone.

    Morning All :hello:
    Last few days of a v e r y long month :p

    So today I have/will:
    • brought in lunch (this has really saved money over the last couple of years I should be very proud of this :D ) Just leftovers because I couldn't get the breadmaker to work last night  I gave it a thorough telling off (a la Basil Fawlty :o ) and left it overnight, full of ingredients. This morning it worked when I turned it on
    • scratch'n'click
    • update my Christmas 2009 list - can't BELIEVE I'm so far ahead :rotfl:
    • a NSD - apart from my 20p tonight.
    • Agreed not to make the 500 mile round trip to the outlaws this weekend, which will save fuel. But I'm merely postponing it until after I've visited Popey - so it'll be March. And instead I'll be feeding DS1, DS2 + DS1's gf as they are visiting me.
    Not a lot ;) I lead a quiet life :D
  • Today I will

Have breakfast and lunch at home
    Have a NSD
Turn the heating right down, and go on the cross trainer for 5 mins every time I need to get warm
Fill my flask with boiling water and make drinks out of that
    Check online banking
    Check Quidco

    Think that's it for now...
    Debts May 09 [strike]£100 Od[/strike], [strike]£1550 boiler[/strike], [strike]£1750[/strike] £400 credit card  Goal - to 3k of savings by Oct 2009 in time for Baby num 2 :j Total so far £1200
  • Morning all!

    Today I will:

charge phone and iPod from work,
    check online banking
submit at least 2 Dooyoo reviews
look into signing up to Qype*
Plus, last night I redeemed my 1st £5 voucher from BP!!

*can anybody give me advice on this? I looked at the site and it claims that anybody who joins now will not be eligible for the gifts when they reach the points total. Are the points usable for anything else?

I hope everyone has a good day!

    Morning all!

Nice dry day here in Manc - at least the morning dog walk wasn't a soggy one!

    Today I will/have...
    • Checked banks online - all still strangely healthy?
    • Had brekkie at home
    • Brought lunch to work - smelly egg sandwich and fruit:p
    • Walk dog for free exercise
    • Book groomer appointment for dog (£25 but well worth it)
    • Have quorn spag bol for tea using up fresh bits and storecupboard ingredients
    • Have a LSD (need some special shampoo but OK otherwise)
    • Phone school about teacher work experience day
    • Do some work!:o
    • Do a freezer list (done)
    • Start shopping list for next weekend - may be just a topup shop rather than a massive one as there's more in the freezer than I thought
    • Find out whether I have to go to Germany next week with work - hope not!
    • Find out when a funeral I have to go to is (not a close relative, an old neighbour) and book day off work
    That's it for today
    Have a good one!
    That's it for today
