Thanks everyone for this lead and the Amazon link for all the user reviews - shame Amazon twigged it was a bargain*** and put the price back up. So just ordered from EmpireDirect.co.uk.

I'd got a bargain £10 Russell Hobbs coffee maker from Netto a few months back - some remaindered aluminium £60 model from a few years earlier - but experience has proven it has two flaws - coffee flask can't be dishwashered, and the coffee filter holder falls out about once a week spilling the coffee. Still it's served its purpose in keeping my caffeine levels up.

So quite ready to go for another far more clever design - thanks.

***What's the betting Amazon have monitoring software that once this tip appeared here in MSE, noticed the increased website viewing/demand and increased the price!

I received my order Acknowledgement a shot while after ordering, and then yesterday, I received this...

    "Dear Customer,
Please accept this as confirmation that your order item(s) will be delivered to you on Thursday 2nd February between the hours of 8.00am to 6.00pm. Should there be any problems with this please call 08701201122.

In addition to this I would like to ask if you would like to take advantage of the extended warranties that we offer on this product. The unit currently comes with a standard 12 month parts and labour warranty, but we do offer a 3 or 5 year extended warranty which covers not only parts and labour, but also call out charges, accidental damage, and full repairs. There are no limits to the number of claims made within this period, and if it is beyond repair it gets replaced with a brand new, up to date model all this for a one off payment, so if you would like to take advantage of this and the peace of mind it brings, please dont hesitate to send me an e-mail and I shall add it on to your order or call myself, Robin ***on 0870 120 1122.

    Many thanks,

    Robin ***

Well as a benchmark the White (silver?) Kenwood BrewMaster (presumably the same CM551) from Argos at £49.99 +CollectCost/P&P has a 3year replacement warranty at £9.99!

I got one too, havent tried it yet. Anyone know roughly how long it takes to heat the water up if the water levels filled to the max?

Not sure how long it takes to heat the max amount of water as have never filled mine right up. The good thing is though that you can start drawing off coffee after about 2 minutes and it will just go brewing the rest. No need to wait for it to finish.
No reliance should be placed on the above.
