Dead car clamped for lack of Car Tax
Comments
-
Well long story short..............
the outcome of all this was, the car was towed and was taken in lue of all charges from the clampers (the car only cost me £150 to start with and I had 4 good years out of it)..........
I got a letter from the dvla a few days later telling me to pay a fine of £40 within the week or £80 thereafter plus back tax of £32, I called them up straight away and paid the fine of £40 and told them who now had posession of the car.
They told me to to mail them the details of the company that had impounded the car , even tho they were employed by the dvla....when I mentioned paying the back tax they wrote it off saying the fine I just paid covered that as well................
So in a nutshell, not paying my tax and/or declaring it sorn saved me £210...............yes I actually do live that far out in the sticks.
Fair result , no robbery and I am a happy person once again.
cheers all for the advice good and bad, I still appreciated it.0
