Tips for making your own multi-surface cleaner

Hi there, I'm keen to make my own multi-surface spray (I've got an empty bottle to refill) using vinegar, lemon juice and bicarb. Anyone any ideas what proportions to use? Or even if this'll work? I've had enough of spraying my house with yuk chemicals (and the amount multi-surface sprays cost!).
Thanks!
Thanks!

I use 1 part vinegar, 5 parts water, then add some essential oil to help mask the smell. The smell does seem to go after a few minutes tho.0

There are also several recipes listed in our Save Zillions on Cleaning Index which you can find via my signature any time you see it or...
..you can use the Indexed Collections link in the Blue Bar at the top of every page which looks something like this:-Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Thanks for explaining that Squeaky, I knew it was there somewhere, just couldn't find it. I don't always find the site that easy to negotiate, particularly the forums (that's probably just me being dense!).0

Wooh, small world! The author of that site is also our local Freecycle moderator! Thanks for the link Pink.0

Just to warn anyone who fancies being an amateur home chemist, I just made a nice mix of water and vinegar, then tipped a spoonful of bicarb on top.
Oops - big mistake as at least half the mix fixed back out the bottle!!! Still, it made me laugh, and my worktop's now sparkling clean.
Just waiting for OH and kids to come home and ask what the funny smell in the kitchen is! LOL!0 -

I should have known that. I had to make a papier mache volcano with ds1 a couple of weeks ago and we used vinegar and bicarb and red food colouring to make it explode. Sorry for not thinking Sarah.

No worries Pink, you weren't to know I was going to have a go at mixing the lot!0

I've hunted on the mega-indexed threads but can't find anything specific and wondered if people would be happy to share their own 'recipes' for a multi purpose cleaner that I can make up and leave in a spray bottle.
I want to use something thrifty and, preferably, without harsh chemicals. I'd like to simply have the one spray and be able to use it in both the bathroom and kitchen to keep the surfaces clean.
I've been using up the bought cleaner I had, so now have a spray bottle ready to use (thoroughly washed).
It would be good to hear what others use and how effective they have found them.
Thanks
