Gordon 's Press conference at 11am today

Options
This was broadcast on Sky News and contains two important points one true and relevant for all savers and the other an outright lie/deception.

1. He emphasized the importance of the global market in relation to financial matters. Up to 40% of loans in the UK were coming from institutions based outside the UK Therefore when the Americans stop lending it affects the whole market. All true and relevant.
Hence the importance of global co-operation and exchange of information.

Secondly he repeated the lie that ALL countries around the world were suffering a banking crisis . Yes, he used and repeated the word ALL.
He knows full well that quite a few have ecaped a banking crisis but wants to cover up this fact and make us believe the crisis is world wide when it only effects certain countries ie mainly banks in the US and in Europe.

Were the 2 world wars a lie in the name as they didn't involve all of the world, most countries have been effected and banks are being bailed out in a large number of countries.

    not just US & Europe.
What about China, Russia, Japan, Korea, Australia, Indonesia...

Could you give us a list of some of the unaffected countries?
Ideally in a list with the largest economies at the top.
  • When the US sneezes, the world catches a cold. I too would like to know of some unaffacted countries. Now for sure, not all countries have been affected to the same degree...

Seems Gordon has been totally successful in his brainwashing.

No banking crisis whatsoever in SE Asia ...am on the spot .
Kindly provide the name of a single bank in crisis in China, Japan Australia or New Zealand or for than matter Indonesia (which you named) similar to what has been happening in the UK .
Awaiting your reply with great interest .

PS No banking crisis in India either with ICICI and State Bank of India holding up quite well.

I think you'll find that australia have been pulled into it because of everyone else but actually have a very strong banking sector, not least because of no investment in the sub-prime.

In some ways its global because they have been dragged into it, though this is primarily due to the drop in mineral prices.

As far as I know, theres been no banking bailouts in Australia.

Are you sure? Or is it perhaps that they can hide it better due to lower regulation and greater risk of fraud?

Even if we assume there is no financial crisis there, they will be hit by a global recession and they were being hit when fuel prices were higher.

Exactly friend Mr Poshman, but its amazing how , to paper over his own sins .Gordon Brown has succeeded in convincing people falsely that ALL countries are having a banking crisis when that is

He is trying to convince people.

Just how many will be taken in is open to debate.

  • Any chance ICIC can bail out TATA and save 2000 UK jobs in Corus?

Agreed purch, so why could he not have said MANY countries are having banking crises as few would have argued with that , but to have said ALL several times in the same speech, knowing it to be untrue, leads one to lose any confidence one might have had in the man.
