Anything I have left goes into my sealed tin. I think I'm nearly up to £20 now. :)

Haven't spent anything since my 'essentials' blip the other day, so looks like I'll have another £3+ to put in the tin this weekend. (I'm not yet sure whether tin money is going to saved for Christmas, or used for a holiday in June... I suppose it depends how much goes in.)

I am so loving this challenge! I think twice before buying stuff, I weigh it up against getting rid of the CC bill. And I think about how much extra I've managed to pay off in 2.5 weeks of money saving (£351 - combined total of OD and CC paid off so far.)

    How cool is that? :j
    Natwest CC - [STRIKE]£2545[/STRIKE] now £0 :j
Overdraft - £2668 - to be cleared by February 2010

    Hi everyone,

I cant remember what I'd spent before so will have to check back through my diary before updating. Yesterday I spent £7 at the pub & £10 on allotment fees, had forgotten I needed to pay that

Today was 50p on parking & then £ 8.08 on groceries.

Will pop back later when I've worked it all out

    Hi FF.

I wish I hadn't read your post - Chips sounds great, I'll be craving them all evening now. (chant to myself, must resist, must resist). Maybe I'll have some tomorrow as thats after the challenge.

My total this week £7.50- £12.50 under budget.

Next weeks pledge I'll go for £15.

Ooh, and I'm starting my challenge tomorrow as I'm going to Glasgow and don't want to spend loads of money just because it's Saturday and doesn't count for the challenge.

Oh dear, that's the second challenge I've failed this week :o

Never mind, I'm going to try for £30 again next week please PointyPenguin

  • :TWell done everyone you all seem to be doing fabulously.

I spent £3.49 on lunch from subway yesterday and £1 on dress-down collection at work. I had friends over for dinner and everything for that came out of the grocery budget so no other spends for me.

So I have spent £10.34 for the week which is very good for me.

I agree I must get my thinking hat on and decide what I am going to do with all the money saved. Should it be for a treat or for cc? What a decision?

How about half and half? Save up the money you don't spend in two pots, and at the end of a month you should have a nice little amount in each to pay off a bit of debt and to treat yourself withsomething nice!
