Weekly Spend Challenge W/C 25th Jan

I think I'm the first one to utterly fail at this challenge this week.
I had to go to Chester today to show my ID for my west bromwich EBond 15. Since I was there, I thought I'd pop into a jewellry shop.
Why? Because it is my 30th birthday soon, and I have been looking for a necklace for my mother to say thank you for being my mum all this time. I had been looking for something with three stones (3 decades), with no luck for couple of month.
Of course, on the week that I go on a low spend challenge, I find the PERFECT necklace for her. So I had to buy it.
Luckily, I had already saved up for this purchase, and as it was on sale (£300 off!!) it came within budget, with £60 change!
Still, I failed at this challenge.
*hangs head in shame*
I will be better next week.0 -
pink_numbers you have not failed if you had already saved this item it should not come out of your weekly budget. You have done a sensible thing which is save for something expensive that you know you will buy and get a great bargain.
It sounds like a lovely gift I am sure your mother will love it.
So no need to hang you head in shame, I usually go wildly over budget anyway. I hope the rest of your week goes well.:DWeekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30

Good luck pink_numbers you can do it.:T
I have my lunch packed with lots of goodies from my supermarket shop the other day so no need to buy anything else today. Finger crossed for a NSD.
Have a good day everyone.Weekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30

Ok this evening I spent £7 (should have been £12 but I got student discount) theatre ticket which was budgeted for but I am £5 up so think that might go for PAD. I also spent £2 on drinks at the theatre. No other spends for me today.:j
F_F seems like you have been bargainous with your gloves. I never have more than one pair or I will never find them.
Raychee don't worry we all have days where we think f-it and at least you bought essentials.
sazzledazzle what is a lottery collection round? Did you win the £10? (Sorry I am nosey!:o)
**purpleprincess** well done on the NSDs you are really racking them up.
Ladymay where did you get a themos so cheaply? Does it work well? I always think the cheap ones will leak.
Pointy Penguin I got it from millets. It's one of those slimline Eurohike flasks, just right for carrying soup in. Got 10% off though - who knew Millets did student discount??
Spent 70p on flapjack yesterday - after spending 9 hours in front of a computer and with another two hours to go I needed some energy. So £12.98 spent leaving £7.02 left for the last cpla days.
Aiming for a NSD today, going out tonight with the girls but I have a seperate budget for going out, which has been woefully unused so far this month!2019 Aim: Save £10,000
Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now0 -
Ok, try and keep up with my sums:
Boss gave me £3 to get her lunch from Boots. I bought it on my gift card - £3 cash profit to me.
Went to WH Smiths and bought the Times (90p) and the £2.99 book of the week with it.
So, if I bear in mind my £3 cash then I only spent 89p today

F_F sounds like some sneaky planning there.

Well I now have a grand total of £1.18 left out of my £25 budget. One of our local stores is closing down and had some really good offers that i just couldn't resist so spent £9.94 today. I might just be able to hang on to my last bit of the budget as I need one more NSD to complete the challenge. I am determined to do it, will avoid shops at all COST tomorrow.Mortgage free 25/9/2019 8years and 7 months early 😁😁😁0
