Good company for double glazing?

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me where I can get a good quote for double glazing? I have to have all the windows in my house refitted as they are rotting and only single glazed. Can anyone recommend a good and trustful company for double glazing?

I have heard so many stories about people coming round to their houses for quotes and they stay for hours to try to get them to sign on the spot.

I have a company coming round to my home next week called 'Dunraven' they are based in Bridgend. Does anyone know what they are like?

Many thanks for all replies.

  • You could try 'Axis' who are based in Caerphilly. They aren't the cheapest but they don't hassle you to sign.

    Hope this helps!

I used to be a double glazing sales rep for both the 'mountain' and the 'knight on a horse' companies!

The first quote we were to give the customer was THREE TIMES WHAT THE COMPANY WAS WILLING TO GO DOWN TO!!!!

They also treated the customers disrespectfully, and as an ethical person I wasn't willing to continue.

So for heaven's sake HAGGLE your socks off!

Sadly, the business model of that industry is cold calling and to try as hard as possible to get the sale on the day. As an internet marketer, I know that there are much more ethical (and more effective) ways of selling, but they have yet to discover that.

Just humour them, and then once you've got a quote, say you won't sign until your spouse/parent (or whoever) approves it. If they insist, tell you have to be somewhere at a certain time, and actually leave the house if you have to!

    Good Luck!

I would highly recommend Welsh Window Systems but they are based in Barry and I'm not sure where you are.
    Their website is....http://www.welshwindows.co.uk/
Cavon is very friendly and does not rip you off - my parents and I have used him for years. He is a bit forgetful, so you have to remind him to come and visit you!!! He is also very busy, so if you're in a rush for the job to be done, you may have to wait a couple of weeks.

    Hello,

I been having lots of double glazing sales people visiting and i would recommend Everseal on Hadfield Road (next door to enterprise rent-a-car) or Dinas Windows both came with very good quotes

But some pointers that i found is that stay clear for safe-style uk, they came across as your typical sales person would and bombard you with so much lingo that you'll be none the wiser when they leave.

    Hope that helps.
