I am a bit of a novice at this so any help would be much appreciated.
My first ever mobile phone contract is coming to an end on 15th March. Does anyone have any tips or recommendations on
1) What to do next, and when?
2) Decent phones around at the moment?
My current phone is a Motorola C975, purchased on a cash back arrangement from Dial-a-Phone such that it has been virtually free for the year (nominally £30 per month).
It is on the ‘3’ network and the tariff is Talk and Text 600 (500 talk, 100 text), which is too much if anything.
Thanks.

It really depends what is priority to you a good phone or 12 months free? if its a decent phone ive heard 3 doing good upgrade deals on the nokia 6280 which is a good phone or looking for 12 months free look **no affiliates please**
That site is pretty good at costing out what you will pay for the contract and you can choose differant phones networks etc, it is a good place to start. The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

Does it have to be one or the other?0 -
You can't get 12mo free with a decent phone.... I've found an offer for 12mo half price with a good phone (and another deal, same phone, 7mo free)
I've spent a year away from nokia, and tbh, never again......0 -
As above, if you want a good phone, you'll have to pay a bit more line rental, if you are happy to make do with a less popular phone then you can get 12 month free line rental.
If you post your requirements up here we can advise on what phone you should go for.
I you are happy to stay on 3 and want the Nokia 6280 then I renewed my contract with them on that deal for £18 a month (average after cashback!)
Cheers

ie, do you need a camera ? bluetooth ? mp3 ? wi-fi ? basically what do you mainly use your phone for.
Also how many minutes and texts you require, and how much you can afford monthly eventhough you'd prefer free over 12 months. Smile, you only get one life, LIVE IT.0 -

Exactly, tell us what you simply MUST have as part of your contract, OR what features you MUST have on your phone.
If you just use the phone for calls then you'll not necessarily need a camera or bluetooth etc.
