how hard is 3 to unclock?

basically my daughter went out last week and lost her mobile phone- it was on a T mobile contract. she still has over 12 months of an 18 month contract to use
i have an old phone on 3 mobile
i was wondering if i brought a T Mobile pay as you go SIM card would i be able to unlock my old 3 phone and give it to her .
how hard is it to unlock 3...?

it depends on the phone rather than the network.
if you post the make/model of the phone, im sure someone should be able to help you0 -
I managed to unlock my wife's 3 Sony K660i which is not the easiest of phones to unlock.0

All 3 phones are network locked - they will give you the unlock code for £15 (depending on the make and model - some can be unlocked free - see the top threads on this discussion board for details).
If she lost the phone, have you contacted the network to block calls on the old SIM? Also need to ask for a replacement.

yeah she contacted t mobile as soon as she came back.
and they blocked her sim
however they have said because i havent got insurance they wont give me a replacement phone.credit card bill. £0.00
