3G - Nokia 6500 help
Hi,
I have Nokia 6500 which I taken out on 18 months contract with 3G in April 2008.
Now I'm having problems with my phone - 80% of the time the coverage disapears from the phone and after 5-10 mins the coverage comes back on again.
I contacted 3G handset support and they cannot sort it - they said it is usual problem with this phone - I explained that the phone was ok for the last 8 months and the problems just started to happen in the last 2 wks.
I have been on the phone with them for at least quarter an hour but they wont repair it or give me an replacement.
Where should I go now? - the handset is still under 12 months warrenty.

Straight to a nokia repair center I think. IIRC you have a 2 year warranty on the phone anyway, but someone may correct me.
Nokia repair centre will deal with the fault under warranty (as long as not water damaged!).
Suggest to you, as to another poster- get a cheap sykpe phoner or something, as you'll have no "redress" to anyone if you can't actually use your contracted minutes eyc whilst the phone is repaired.0 -
But shouldnt 3 take the resposibility and repair it - really the phone was sent from them and they should be the one to repair - rather me going around the places.

same problem here, ive just got off the phone after nearly 1 hour with 3's customer manager, i had a 6500 slide as an upgrade in august and have had nothing but trouble with it (as described above)
this is my 4th call asking for a repair and i was offered a nokia 3120 as a replacement.
not happy
the 3120 is not an equivalent replacement to the 6500 in my opinion because of the camera/video quality (i use these alot)
3 have told me they WILL NOT repair my hanset as its a known fault and it will just come back to me the same
why are 3 still selling these phones with the "known" fault???
why was i not advised of this when i upgraded seeing that 3 knew the fault and also knew i lived in a low coverage area??
why can i not get an equivalent replacement off them????
is there any way i can cancell my conteact with them as i feel they are,
1-not offering me a suitable repair or replacement
2-still selling phones with known faults
3-not advising customers of these faults
i have told 3 that im not after a "free upgrade" but what i do want is a handset i can use or just an equivalent replacement.

i got a 6220 as replacement on same grounds
write to 3's registered office not customer servicesSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -

Good - did they take away Nokia 6500 from you?
I sent an email to 3 Executive Offive - someone contacted me on friday but they left a message on my answerphone - I will phone them on monday and see how it goes on.
