3 Mobile giving us grief

Hi all, I need some advise,

My OH has a contract with 3 which he took out in November 08, for the past month or so his phone has been playing up, it wont hold a charge and after being plugged in for several hours loses its battery power after literaly a few minutes. We tried to take it back but the people at our local store said they would have to send it away for repair.

OH picked up the phone yesterday to be told there wasnt a fault, it was clear there was as the phone still wouldnt work properly. The manager of the store tried to claim there was nothing they could do other than return the phone again but we refused asking for a new battery, after a bit of stand off they finally replaced the battery and advised OH to charge it overnight before using.

He did that and yet again the phone doesnt work, where do we stand here? We're both getting fed up as he has a phone he cant use and is paying almost £300 a year for it. Can he cancel his contract on the basis that the phone is unfit for purpose? he wants a new phone but was told that the company cant do that and have to return the phone for repair instead!

Screw them and send it back to the manufacturer, what make/model is it?
  • If you have no joy with 3, then cancel the contract by cancelling the DD with the excuse 'the phone is not fit for the purpose' & ' unrepairable phone'.

Then and only then will they take notice

Or send it back to the manufacturer at your expense Postage + repair costs.

Money saving is now a way of life:cool:
  • If it is a nokia you can take it to a nokia repair centra yourself under the waranty.

Suggest you buy a really cheap phone (egskype 1) so you have a back up as I guess you will be without a phone for a while- if you really need to put the thumbscrews on 3 via small claims court of something then you can claim that cost back!
  • Hi guys

I also have a mobile phone with 3 which began to play up. I got a phone call from a specialist team when they couldn't find the fault to get some more info from me.

The fault on my phone was pretty weird, so i'm not surprised the tech couldn't find it straight away. After talking to me they found the fault on the phone.

I also got a letter back which had a phone number for the UK based technical contact centre. Try giving these guys a call.....08707 330 292
  • hmmmmm, interesting.

I also have a problem with my 3 phone. It is a Sony ericsson C905. Firstly the ear piece was at fault I sent it away to be repaired then it came back with the plastic facia coming away from the screen. I didn't even take it home. When I phoned three this afternoon they tell me that the repair centre cannot find the fault!?! Are they blind? I was also wondering if I could get out of the contract as i have only had the phone 8 weeks.

sorry for hi-jacking your thread, I think I got carried away.
