Ah, that's it, we're all f*cked.0 -
What have I seen. Two banks I had money with collapse. FSCS forms to complete and send back. Banks collapsing once thought to be very rare now almost all are being propped up. Just a little local difficulty of minor consideration to us all. Think again. Sure signs of much sh*t up the pipeline and coming our way.0

Investments have gone down but one has to accept this is a gamble and is likley to pick up in the long run (by which time I will have a full head of grey hair  ).
I must be the only fool that has managed to sustain a year on year loss on property

Missed the point there mate, it's about not trusting the media and going by personal experience only :beer:0 -

Have you personally experienced anything though or are you just going by what the telly tells you?

When I went out shopping last weekend there were 7 empty shops which had closed due to financial problems (including Woolies!).
Norther Rock went bust

One relative who thinks that he will lose his job (although it hasn't happened yet).
I suspect there will be more to come.............0 -
My girlfriend has lost her job (actually because of the bank of england's response to the recession, not the actual recession!), found another one, lost that, my uncle's been told to impose a pay freeze at his company by the foreign owners, several of my friends have been made redundant.
I was at a party last night with a bunch of young types who graduated this Summer and the only ones doing anything more than temping are the ones who are doing Masters courses or have gone into teaching. And obviously all the feedback from the Councils I work for which is unutterably dire and I've posted about before.
Oh, and my mate has lost £25 million from the fund he manages, and got a bonus for outperforming the average :beer:Hurrah, now I have more thankings than postings, cheers everyone!0 -
Nobody has ever seen an atom - didn't stop some smart people creating an atomic bomb. An engineer seeing a pressure guauge rising above the equipment design pressure knows that it is likely to burst and doesn't hang around saying he hasn't yet 'experienced anything'.FungusFighter wrote: »Have you personally experienced anything though or are you just going by what the telly tells you?

Parents work for the same company and have both been made redundant, Uncle has lost his job.
My home is in negative equity therefore unable to move to a bigger house as planned. Gonna take years to save enough money for a good deposit and to cover the negative equity we are in.
Bf is trying to sell car but in the current climate no-one seems to be buying.Squish0 -

But what have you seen with your own eyes?
I've seen Woolies closing down and mum says the gloop she sticks on her face is now 5ml less for the smae price but she lives in NZ so not sure that counts:rotfl:
Ummmmm
That's it:beer:
Anyone else? And no cheating, you or your family ahve to have SEEN it, not just heard or read about it.:A
Queues outside NRK, finding it hard to get a job (despite very good qualifications and experience), FTSE down infinity percent, shops going bust all over the place, in Aus chunks of land coming up for sale that just never do (eg big blocks next to railways - perfect for a block of flats to sell to the young and to investors), car prices falling (fell?), tons of mates lost their jobs.
Will that do for starters?0
