    Well, the second count has been done and the 20's 10's 5's amounted to the sum of £878 :-

    20p = £490
    10p = £190
    5p = £198

    together with the earlier £3140 makes a grand total which would have gone up in smoke - £4018 !!!!!

    Not looking forward to the next count - 2's and 1's !!!!!!!!!

    Good Luck Saving

    FINISHED !!!!!! the final count has now taken place. Boy, was it difficult counting the 1's and 2's. Not quite as exciting as counting the others, but still an impressive £116 has been added to the total non-smoking fund consisting of :-

    2p = £82
    1p = £34

    Grand Total £4134.00 - Not going to leave it so long next time, will do it annually. And I've already amasses £16 in £2 coins so far !! :j

    To all the smokers here, try cutting back or quitting and put the equivalent spend into a bottle and watch it grow and grow and grow. The bigger it gets, the more determined you'll be to continue with it. Something you've always wanted, somewhere you dreamt of going but couldn't afford it ? If only I could quit beer n wine :beer:

    I'm off to find some sun now !!!!
  • Got a couple more up to £16 now, nearly got enough for a pair of jeans lol

    Exel, that's amazing!! An inspiration to everyone, shows just what you can do by stopping smoking and/or saving in small bits. £4134 is a significant sum and I'm sure whatever you do with it you will enjoy so much! Well done you :T

    just wondered how the homemade terramundi making went (i tried to look for the post to quote but there are soooo many!)?
    i'm a full grown adult, but the idea of getting the papier mache (not sure of spelling!) out and making one is really tempting - but no kids to use as an excuse!!!

    Yes, it's finished now. I do need to paint it though but I'm not sure what paint would be best for this as I don't want it to make my fingers messy.

    Don't worry about being an adult, my son took one look and left me to it! I did one layer the first day and a second layer two days after.

    Take the plunge and have fun! :rotfl:
