Just wanted to re-thank the original poster of this thread.

Thanks to joining the £2 savers club I have totally changed my attitude to saving loose change (it used to go into the coin machine at sainsburys and get absorbed in the shopping).

We have just had a lovely holiday in the Channel Islands and the money we saved in the £2 club allowed us to enjoy ourselves and not scrimp and save - we could "push the boat out a bit".

    Hi there

I've been meaning to start saving my £2.00 coins since seeing this thread ages ago and was finally motivated to start when I won an 'elephant' bank (think 'piggy bank', but an elephant instead!) in a local raffle.

It's been sitting there for weeks, empty and bereft, so I'm putting it to good use and saving for Christmas and my two kids' birthdays, as my daughter's is end of November and my son's is mid-Jan.

So far, I've saved £10.00 and I'm rather chuffed with myself. Will keep you posted!

    Katie

Well done Katie! You will start to get very excited when you get a £2 coin and be able to pop it into your new 'elly' straight away :T

My piggybank from Pigsback.co.uk has lost it's key, so I suppose that's a good thing - saving for Xmas hol in Thailand. :j :j :j

So that brings my total to £56!! Trouble is, thanks to the £4 total contribution by the OH he now thinks its a shared pot! Hmmmmm ;)

He he - he's crafty! My OH is very good about change and leaves me little scatterings on the sofa or the table when he comes into work or leaves for work.

Even so, I still put my best doggy eyes face on and ask Mr EL if he has any 'change' for the 2 piggies as they're hungry (we have one Pigsback.co.uk piggy for silvers and one for £2, sometimes £1 coins too). He normally adds a few more then...

Me, I check my purse everyday, especially when I've bought anything at lunchtime, or needed to change money for raffles or donations at work.

Piggies are looking well fed, but as I've lost keys to them, we'll be changing them up in 1st week of December come what may - it will be a nice surprise, and I'll keep guesstimating the £2 levels in my sig :rotfl:
