Two today, but one's a bit odd.
It's from 1995 and doesn't have the two-tone bit. On the back it's got "Nations United for Peace". The queen's on the front so I take it it's legal. Anyone else got one of these? What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -
Can you believe it.
I'm down 1 coin as scuba147 now started his collection, that coin should have been mine!
I'll be going backwards at this rate. :eek:0 -
Hi Minnie Spender.
So far as I know, your 1995 coin was before they came out in general circulation. I have several, bought to comemmorate whichever event was depicted. Presumeably yours was an anniversary of the UN?
They are legal tender, but to be honest it would be easier exchanging it at the bank if you DO want to spend it, as not everyone will recognise it as legal.
I currently have a couple of £5 coins, issued for the same reasons outlined above.
On a personal note, have just totalled up and I'm up to £62 today too, Angela. Haven't taken the amount off my debt amount, because I figure until its banked it doesn't count.
Hugs,
Metherer
xNot heavily in debt, but still trying to sort things out.

Thanks for that Metherer. I thought it was a bit early to be a usual £2 coin. Hey - maybe I could flog it on ebay? Or failing that, I'll just shove it in a bag with the rest of them next time I pay in. What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -
Hiya,
Now got another 4 coins from the OH, I'm on a roll this week. It's great to read all the posts and what people are doing with their booty.
Some healthy competition going on with holidayqueen and scuba 147...I wouldn't want my OH joining in though!
Cheers

Here’s the latest list showing the members of the MSE £2 Coin Savers Club as of Thursday 1st June 2006. Shown also are the amounts and reasons for saving extracted from savers signatures ….Wonderful….Wey Hey….
In addition to the grand total at the bottom of the chart there’s an unknown amount of £2 coins in savers terramundis amounting to 12.27 Kilograms (27lbs 8oz approx). A big well done to everyone… :TThe £2 Coin Savers Club = £346.00 (£300.00 transferred to Savings a/c)

It's my eldest son's 6th birthday today and he happened to get a £2 coin from an elderly neighbour so I just had to buy it off him. There is a forgotten, nay almost forbidden word which means more to me than any other. That word is England.
