I've just had a look at the British Royal mint website and says

"As at 31 December 2003 it is estimated that there were 232 million £2 coins in circulation"

So there should be plenty to go round !

Since following this thread, I too have been saving £2 coins, on the quiet, I only have 5 = £10, but I guess its a start, but I would really like to become an official member pplleaassssee!! I even pinched one from my hubbies change he left on the side it was there for the taking wasn't it?? Oooo I guess it wasn't....bit naughty of me but I'm sure he won't miss it

Got offered a £2 coin today from the lottery syndicate organiser at work (he knows I collect them) but I had no money in my purse to swap for it.... :mad:
