    Still haven't got any!!
  • What do you reckon, I've got £20 worth of £2 coins now, and on my lunchbreak today, just by pure chance I found a shop that sold terramundi pots. They are £17 each. Now do I keep my £2 coins in my piggy and don't spend anything and let it accumulate, OR do I spend £17 of it and buy a terramundi pot??? I'd only be left with one £2 coin then :( but start again.

    Hello Locana,
I posted the tips below some time ago..... I'm sure other £2 Coin Savers will probably have lots of more tips.....

Tips for Gathering, Hoarding and Squirreling Away £2.00 Coins

    Newsagents and Corner Shops
The smaller shop keepers are always crying out and lamenting for small change. Poor babes… :p Now’s your chance to be their Best Friend. They fret, worry even agonize and have Sleepless Nights about not having enough pennies in the till…poor souls…. Listen to their woes and lamentations… They will love you and even talk to you…then strike… exchanging your pennies for the Prize. If you’re lucky you may even get a freebie item or two from them – check the sell by date though…. :D

    Raid the Kids Piggy Banks
Yay…how good is that…. :p The Raid can be done by Stealth or by Bullying. Stealth is great and really, really Sneaky and involves Sweet Talking and Cajoling … whatever that means… Bullying is much more fun – hee hee. :D The kids will probably much prefer lots of really shiny, wonderful little 5ps instead of one big dull, unexciting, really heavy, brassy thing. If the stealth doesn’t work then up-the-anti to Bullying – hee hee. :p Bullying involves lots of ‘Finger Wagging’ and ‘Stern Looks’ – practise in front of a mirror.

    Banks
A great source of £2.00 Coins or should be…after all they make the things….. :p Take your pennies to these places – strike while the Iron is hot…or something like that… Don’t go at Lunch Times when they are really, really busy – they will be annoyed and Glare at you. Plan your visit times carefully.... be Shrewd and Sneaky. Going to the Bank two minutes before closing time is not being Shrewd and Sneaky.

The MSE £2 Coin Savers gang….. Awesome... :D

so my £1.25 shop in Asda effectively cost me £7.25

Got another in my change in Sainsburys today. Just about the first time I've ever stuck to my list with no "bargains" or impulse buys. Left cc at home and paid in cash. Felt v. proud of my self. Even had an MSE conversation with the checkout lady. She hadn't heard of MSE but was working there to save to move house and wanted to avoid using her HMV vouchers to buy some music she wanted as then she'd spend the money she was earning rather than save it. I reccommended this site!

Keep the £2 coins!!!! Just use an old tin or box instead of spending them on a terramundi pot. An empty Pringles tub can easily be sealed up and a £2 size hole cut into the top to keep them in ;)

How can you even THINK about parting with any  :D
