                    Hello
Does anyone know how to find out Unmetered Water Rate Charges from previous years i.e. what the annual charges for each year going back to 1995? I've rang Thames Water but they're not much help!
Thanks
Ahmed

If it is your own property you can use the Data Protection Act to get records showing the billing going back at least the last 7 years. However you need to have owned the property all this time as you can't legally be given information on someone else.
No one is advised to or generally keeps billing records that go back more than 7 years. So you are not likely to dig them up further than this time frame.
You could if you are lucky dig up via the media the percentage increase that Thames Water has charged prior to this but it won't be accurate.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Write in to Thames Water, asking for the information. The unmeasured water rate charges are generic to each local authority area, so data protection is not an issue. They do have the records, but it will take someone with a little savvy to actually locate them and provide you with the info. Suggest you write to the Customer Services director, Mike Tempest, saying that you had no joy on the phone. That should sort you out.Comp wins: Jan: Cuddly Iguana, Disney Watch Feb: Nothing!!
