Can't access Skype on my INQ1 / Texter

I got my callback from the technical support team, they have confirmed that the extra add-on IS needed.
So is this http://threestore.three.co.uk/dealsummary.aspx?offercode=18UT20D045 misleading? I'm sticking to that line with 3 but I know they're savvy. I reckon it is because it implies that Skype is bundled along with Facebook, MSN and Last.fm - all free services. Nowhere does it give you a footnote or anything saying that additional services are needed to access Skype. Even here, in the price plan detail at the bottom of the page http://threestore.three.co.uk/plandetails.aspx?tariffid=1077 it doesn't mention anything about Skype pricing, it just contains the gibberish sentence:Free Skype calls & message are for Skype calls are Skype calls & messages sent from the UK
I don't know if I have a leg to stand on here with them, ideally I'd love out and get the iPhone I've been drooling over BUT it is a contract, boo0 -
Hi!
Just found this thread, and it was most helpful in helping me sort out my nearly identical problem with three.
I signed up for the INQ1 Texter/Internet deal last week as a new customer, received the phone and started using it from the word go. After trying skype and getting the "sorry, it's not set up on your phone, ring 0870..." message, I checked my bill and realised that I had been charged for using the mobile internet. Shaln't mention figures, but at £2 per mb, and some rigourous testing, it was obscene.
First call to CS, got a gentleman who told me that I needed an add on for skype. Having read/re-read this forum and the 3 sales site, and being adamant that free internet was part of the texter deal, we got nowhere and I got cut off. The following day, I rang on my lunch hour, spoke to a different gentleman, and he confirmed that you needed a separate add on for skype, facebook et al, and that it was indeed going to be costly. Then, out of a flash of inspiration (or possibly desperation) I asked him if the £15 texter tariff was one common across all 3 phones. Yes, he said. I remembered that the websites description said "Ideal for INQ" so I asked him if the deal I had signed up for was INQ specific. At this point, I'm put on hold for five minutes, and the gentleman comes back and says Yes. Result.
Gives me the number for the sales support team (0870 333 1289 for those with a similar problem to mine) - explained to the gentleman that I had mistakenly been put on the £15 texter (as opposed to the correct £15 Texter and Internet INQ promo) and it was sorted in 5 minutes flat.
Internet works fine now - charges for internet use reversed, and most importantly I can skype away to my hearts content!
As I said before, I just want to say thanks to all of you on this thread, if anything, for giving me the courage to ring up and say my piece. Had I not seen this thread, I may well have accepted the gentleman from last nights assessment, and ended up paying £5 a month for an addon I should have had from the outset.0
