refund for Ryanair tickets booked by mistake

There is a thing in place called the European Airline Passenger Service Commitment which, as long as 24hrs have not passed since the booking, will allow you to cancel even a non-refundable fare within the first 24hrs after booking, without penalty. Outside of that you are at the airline's mercy, but if you call them and quote that they have to under the EAPSC, they should (begrudgingly) do it, as long as you didn't buy the ticket more than 24hrs ago.
I've used this on BMI and Easyjet flights before - most T&C's fail to mention this get-out clause, but you can do it if you know it is there.

The Commitment is only voluntary. Do you have evidence that Ryanair have signed up to it?Gone ... or have I?0 -

No, in your original post you didn't state it was from experience, you stated it as if it was fact. Perhaps you could confirm your information before giving people false hope?
Even for those airlines that have signed up to the Commitment, it should be noted that none of the measures are legally binding. Therefore, the airline would still not be legally obliged to refund the booking, it would only be at their discretion.Gone ... or have I?0 -

She's off again, wrong time of the month girl? The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

Oh dear, here we go. The official MSE Forum Police have arrived, ready to give grief to anyone who makes the slightest mistake.
dmg24 - instead of posting needlessly in order to get your post count up, why not go and find yourself a life ?0
