Good morning rugbymum -
If you call this no. - Tel: 01274 760720 - they will make the next steps easy for you and you needn't worry about ' I've checked out the website but as there is no centre near me they refer me to the contacts for CAB, PayPlan, CCCS etc.'
Truly, rugbymum, they will come to you and help you - and that's what you really need right now, which feels especially valid on a lowering, dark, blowy wet day.
Please just give that no. a call; here it is again: 01274 - 760720.
They will call you back, probably tomorrow. If school runs or similar take you away from the house at certain times, mention these if you leave a message, or leave them a mob. no if you can.
I am thinking of you today (as I remake lemon curd after yesterday's explosive mishap).CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Ampersand - thank you again.
I truly don't care who helps me, so long as they have the expertise.
I am a Christian, not as regular a church-goer as I should be, but I have found "Christians", some of the most judgmental, hurtful, unkind and despicably unpleasant people I have had to deal with.
Unfortunately they are the ones that stick in the mind (and heart) and they overshadow the lovely, kind, helpful and blessed people I have come accross.LBM:FEB 2008

Ok maybe I'm being a bit thick, but what, practically speaking, happens with my bank account?

I currently receive my maintainence & tax credits into a Co-op cashminder account which I use as housekeeping & to pay a couple of regular bills.
The rest of my maintainence & child benefit is paid into my Lloyds basic bank account (they are also one of my creditors), this is used for bills & debt payments.
Where on earth do I have stuff paid to and how do we live when my accounts are frozen by the OR? I know about the accounts offered by others but seriously isn't there a time delay between freezing & getting new accounts?
HSBC, Barclays & NatWest WILL NOT touch me (either creditors or already tried to open basic accounts, no-go!).
I love the Co-op and want to leave Lloyds anyway!LBM:FEB 2008

Hi RM, you should be able to keep your co-op cashminder with no problem. On your forms you put which account you will use for everyday living, the OR will then write to the bank to say they have no interest in the account. It's very rare for the co-op to freeze an account, if they do you phone your OR and they will fax instructions to the bank unfreeze it, usually instantly.
So you can transfer all your bills you will be paying post BR and your salary over to your co-op account.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Lemon curd's in jars and strange experimental bread(green and red pepper, white and red onion, rosemary, sunflower seeds, sesame and poppy ditto) is proving.
I'm keeping you with me throughout the day rugbymum - pm'g now.
I feel I could have written your post 15, too - kettle's on, so I'll set out another mug or two, if anyone feels like it.
Warm hugs to you and oval balls to the nasties.

Now wishing you all a warm, snug safe night of peaceful sleep and renewal in the sure knowledge of things improving, starting tomorrow.
I'm calling it your 150-day flight path to happiness - untramelled!
I'll catch up with you tomorrow, rugbymum - the stumbling and clambering at impossible hurdles starts easing NOW.

When you become a client of CAP they will open you an account with them, you pay in an amount agreed by CAP and yourself from which they pay your rent/mortgage, council tax and utilities. Then the rest of your money can stay in your Co-Op account for payment of any other bills ie: home phone, mobile and can be used for general use such as food, petrol etc. That way your most important bills are covered by your payment into CAP. The CAP amount will also include an amount for savings which you can draw on at any time, but if left for the year come Christmas you have a nice healthy sum in there so that the financial pressure is taken off you at that time of the year!
When you have your appointment with them in a few weeks you will feel like a new woman
