I'll be voting Lib Dem, even though I don't find Clegg at all inspiring as a leader. I really feel it's time they were given a chance to show what they can do in power.
True, but remember that Gordon Brown was supposed to be the genius behind Labour, and look what he turned out to be! - Maybe Nick will be in reverse??!! Just a thought!0 -
I'll vote for any party (excl. bnp) that can keep the tories out.
18yrs was quite enough, thanks. I don't relish the thought of the bullingdon boys doing a re-run.miladdo0 -
I hope his 29 female partners have some idea!Vote for Nick Clegg for PM - you're having a laugh. He's the invisible man. I bet most people don't even know who he is.:p
His one original idea on today's Politics show with Andrew Marr (apart from making the tax system "fairer") was to increase corporate taxes.
Great idea when we'll need to attract businesses to employ the 3.5m out of work
As for Vince.
The stock market has fallen 10% since he recommended the general public buy.0 -
It's funny how time alters the memory. Britain was probably even more dismal than it is now in the early 80s, thanks to Thatcher. Think "Boys from the Blackstuff". Ok, you don't expect the Conservatives to care much for working class people but Labour are supposed to be the party of the people and have treated this nation with contempt.
Like I heard someone say on Question Time, spending your way out of poverty is like drinking your way out of alcoholism.
Most people would vote LibDem, if they thought everyone else would...0 -
the boys from the blackstuff can still make me feel sick. I hated those days.0

Strangely enough that is what Thatcher would have said or was that Let them eat cake?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
I've voted for all of the parties at some point and don't really like any of them. I'll probably vote Tory because we have a very good local Tory MP who cares about the town and works hard on our behalf, though I'm not a great fan of Cameron (a bit wishy-washy) and Osborne's just like some annoying little buzzy insect. I do like Vince, but who else is there? Nick Clegg? Lembit Opik? Perish the thought. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I think perhaps it should be shown again: because there are certainly some of the posters on here who must be very young, and therefore not aware of just how dreadful a period it was nor of the serious long-term damage to the fabric of our Country and it's people.
I personally think it was one of the best epoch defining dramas ever made and had far more important messages than Cathy Come Home ever did. Should be shown alongside the Economics and History lessons in every school across the Country imo:D"there are some persons in this World who, unable to give better proof of being wise, take a strange delight in showing what they think they have sagaciously read in mankind by uncharitable suspicions of them"(Herman Melville)0 -

What a childish and ignorant stance. :rolleyes:0 -

Nope! Just one based on experience of what went on and how truly dreadful the period actually was:D"there are some persons in this World who, unable to give better proof of being wise, take a strange delight in showing what they think they have sagaciously read in mankind by uncharitable suspicions of them"(Herman Melville)0
