Would you buy a refurbished laptop from ebay?

Nope I wouldn't. Bought a re-furbished Toshiba from a good company and it died almost a day after the guarantee. You can get so many good deals now I wouldn't risk it.0

I sold a refurb laptop on eBay and someone at my local PO Counters stole it...never even got scanned into the ParcelFarce computer.0

I've just bought a refurbished laptop from thelaptopcentre.co.uk and it seems great so far.
I paid £230 inc next day delivery for a Compaq HP NC6000 which has 1/2 GB of RAM (I could have upgraded to 1GB for around another £20), 40GB memory, Windows XP & 6 months warranty.
My previous laptop was also a refurbished one (from Morgans) and only died when it got a terminal virus.
I tried out a new computer from laptopsdirect that cost me £393 but I returned it as it was unreliable shutting down (still waiting for a refund despite returning it in the 7 day cooling off period but that's another story).
Good luck re-rewind.0 -
Wouldn't get a refurb myself as they're usually knackered company returns for upgrades that have probably been used 24/7. They only get a quick look over and tarted up then sold on again. I got my current laptop from acer direct and it's still running fine after over two years just looks knackered now
Wins: pink kids laptop

NO also applies to mobile phones, games consoles and anything high tech!0

I don't see buying a refurb one being any worse then buying a 2nd hand one.
If you post the item number ill take a look for you.0 -
I've bought 3 from this seller in the last 2 years, and each one has been faultless - http://stores.ebay.co.uk/RecTech-Notebooks<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0

Well its a little considering that the seller seems to be using stock photos however the fact he has over 10 for sale makes me think personally is that perhaps there from a company that's gone belly up or they have upgraded there's and these have just been wiped and tested to make sure they work.
Globalds is right in saying on a 2nd hand laptop be wary of the battery life as its one of those things in where it might be fine or it might not last very long at all that I guess is a chance you take.
As you say there feedback is good and they sell a lot of stuff so that has to count for something.
If it meets your requirements then personally id go for it.0 -
