You must be insane, that amount of miles is crazy talk.
Is there a particular reason you live so far away from uni? If not you should really consider renting a room closer, that amount of money adds up very quickly!
32 weeks of uni at 60 a week is nearly 2 grand!!! :eek:0 -

I dont live too far from Uni, it is about 20- 25 miles away from my home.
Yep the money is adding up quickly!
Renting a place would work out to be alot more expensive- £90 a week for rent!0 -
What have you been living on so far? Savings? Earnings? I'm just wondering how you're planning to pay back a Student Loan while still studying.
Also fascinated to know what the "few bits and bobs" were that cost a few thousand - couple of axles and a drive shft, perhaps?!! What type of car is it? My 01 diesel estate does 10 miles to the litre, so your mileage would cost about a fiver a day. Your bill seems very high.
Yes, you'll be able to get the Loan, but I'd strongly suggest you sit down now and work out what you can realistically afford to spend before things get out of hand.
Mel.Though no-one can go back and make a brand-new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand-new ending.

Mel.
I work once/ twice a week and I also had savings...
I bought a 54 plate 2.0 GT TDI just before starting Uni = £7000
I have had it serviced, changed all tires and put brand new Dunlops, aligned the wheels, refurbished the alloys etc etc...
I know that all if I work in the summer holidays I will earn around £2000, which would probably be enough to pay of the loan.
I am going on a holiday this summer so when I get back I will start working on the days I get off then when next summer finishes I will be in my 3rd year of Uni and debt free.
Sounds like a good plan on paper...0
