We live in a poor reception area, our nearest transmitter is 24 miles away. However, we have a high gain aerial in the loft (bought from argos) and a signal booster. Our reception is fine. You need to make sure the aerial is pointing in the right direction ie towards the transmitter. When we installed ours, my husband went up in the loft and moved it around while I checked the picture on the telly. Also look at the other aerials in your area, you'll see they all point in a similar direction.

    Heather,

If you can see the transmitter out of the window of the room your going to have the indoor aerial in you will be OK with an indoor aerial.
If not you really do need one on the roof or at least in the loft as in Sarah's post.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

I bought a digital aerial from B & Q (£19) with a booster, put it in my loft and can now get all the digital stations on my digibox. You have to be able to plug the booster in somewhere.
