I'm not 100% sure but I'm guessing they have underpaid me slightly so are paying a higher amount through till April to correct it. Then it will drop to the normal amount.Snaggs~Why is your income dropping in April BTW?

I'm thinking of doing more hours at work but the more hours I do, the more complicated childcare gets, because Ryan can't just go to any old childminder, and the one I thought I'd found for him let me down.
The ideal thing would be to work a few hours a week at a school, so it's term time only, but nothing has come up in the few months I've been looking."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Hi hun
Glad to see your getting on top of things and taking control.
Good on ya!
I too split up with my husband last year in April actually and that is why I have not been here in ages.
So well done you for geting back on track so soon.. I have only just come back in the last few days.
I agree with most the others about cutting done the food.
My virgin package is tv internet and phone (i get jetix for £36 a month including the cost of phone calls) Just remember that you have to phone up and renegotaite with them every so often to get the best deals with them.0 -
Cheers Silkglade - hope you are coping okay with your split. :grouphug:
Whenever I ring they wont give me a discount. Maybe I just need to tell them I'm cancelling. Knowing my luck they will just say 'oh, okay then....byeeeee'.

That is exactly what I do every time... I just say that I want to cancel then they put you through to the department with the (super to make you stay discounts)

Good luck with it all Snaggles hun. I know what a determined and level headed woman you are, so if anyone can sort it..you definately can.The only practical advice i can add on top of what others have said is to have a look at Martin's front page on the site. Teaching gran to suck eggs i know, but the deals are amazing at times and you may well get a better phone/tv pacakage that way.
Good luck with job hunting etc. Bob xBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I would agree with others about getting rid of the charity donation and the gym membership.
For your grocery spends, check out the Old Style board if you haven't done so all ready. There's a grocery challenge on there that lots of people swear by. There are also lots of easy recipes for batch cooking and freezing food.
Do you do the little things like surveys and daily clicks? I know they're not much, but will add up and could help, especially if you get vouchers which you can buy presents with to help reduce outgoings. Toluna issue Sainsburys vouchers and Valued Opinions do Tesco ones.
Sorry I can't be more help
EDIT: forgot to suggest the Up Your Income board for inspirationComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0
