Ideal World shocking service

I just wondered if I was the only one who has encountered the shocking customer service provided by this company.

Back in October I ordered a pair of curtains that never arrived. After numerous emails and phone calls they finally agreed to refund my money. However the amount refunded was less than I paid. I have totally failed to get them to do anything about it despite repeated communications.

Then in December I ordered another two items from them (duh, how stupid am I). Upon opening the first one it was damaged so I returned both items without opening the second. This time they refunded for one item and no postage which as they had charged over £10 to post an item that it cost me £1.74 to post back I feel is a little steep. I have written to them but merely received a call from a customer service operator who could not understand anything I was saying and I finally lost patience with.

Help - I now have no goods from them but in total am now £26 worse off than I was when I started to deal with them. I have today emailed a copy of my bank statement showing the payment and refund as they say they have no records of how much customers pay!!!!

Has anyone else come across this and got any hints of what to do?

Thanks

    No!
If all else fails andrew.fryatt@idealshoppingdirect.co.uk, he's still the boss as far as I know.
It's worked for me very quickly after trying for six weeks and being falsely promised repeatedly a refund for non delivered item.
Long pole, disinfected, wouldn't touch with are some words that spring to mind about Ideal World.

Thank you so much for that. I'll try emailing him and report back how I get on. Completely agree about long poles etc I wouldn't dream of going near them ever again.

Their products may be good generally but when customer service is the worst that I have come across it puts you off ever wanting to use them.

The real joke is that even though they owe me money they have offered me a whopping £4 discount off my next order to keep my custom!!!

    In their dreams.
  • Hi

You are not the only one who has had problems with Ideal World.

Can anyone tell me who is in charge at Ideal World as there is no Head Office number for you to contact anybody and the customer service will not give out the number; apparently company policy!!!! I have had the most horrendous two week trying to get an item colleted from my home; and have made at least a dozen phone calls between England and India. All of whom are arranging a collection with 48 hours. What a joke!!! After staying in all day and asking others to stay in for me, the extremely large parcel has still not been collected.

Is there anyone out there who may be able to help me resolve this. I am just going roung in circles and the company are just not interested.

I tried the email address for Andrew Fryatt but it bounced back I will try the other chap. I'm not holding my breath as I can't even get anyone to understand what I am talking about.

At teh rate they are going if their customer service is always this poor they will end up with no customers.

Many thanks to the person who gave me Mike Hancox's name. I emailed him direct and within 3 hours the whole catalogue of errors was sorted. The gentleman who rang me was courteous and helpful and refunded my money.

Shame their customer service agents can't do the same - although he does assure me that they have repatriated their CS department to the UK and things will improve.

    Thanks for all the help.
  • Having a ongoing problem with Ideal World re non delivery, I just phoned the head office to be told they do not have a UK based customer services!!! Blatant lies seem to trip off the tongues of thier staff. Having read the above comments I am going to attempt to email Mike Hancox and see if he can resolve my problem, however i wont hold my breath
