Abbey £100 Bank Account

I see Abbey are now offering £100 to switch your current account to them (http://www.abbey.com/csgs/Satellite?c=GSProducto&cid=1210616935108&pagename=Abbey%2FGSProducto%2FGS_InfProducto)

Does anyone know if existing A&L customers qualify?

Sorry i don't have a reply to your question, but be carful transferring to Abbey, i have had my account for about 4 years, never been over drawn except for once (£2)in Dec 2008, they have charged me £50 for this i have lodged a complaint and never herd from them again. they charge alot for over sea spends ie on holiday ect.

Good luck if you choose to transfer to them.

PS - I don't see why you shouldn't be able to open the account, it does say new Abbey people. I'd give it a go.

This offer started late Nov/early Dec and finished on Dec 15. It is ONLY available through the website and not in branch. If you hold an existing Abbey bank account then you cannot have this offer. The switcher process is often dependant on how quickly the other bank give Abbey the info requested. If during the switcher process you happen to incur any bank charges then Abbey will refund/waive them.

Hmm, well I didn't see any mention of this when I signed up online last night, just that it was for new Abbey customers only. I'm switching one of my old A&L accounts for the £100 so we'll see...

Have taken copy of T&Cs anyway, fingers crossed I won't need to fight about it!

Yes, I signed up yesterday and all seemed fine. Will wait and see, now awaiting confirmation. It was all very specific about the £100 cashback.

I've not heard yet - didn't expect much over the weekend....

I don't think they would not let me open the account, only that they would probably try and wriggle out of the £100 for switching from another Santander bank.

I switched to Abbey Account from A+L Account in December via 100.00 incentive offer, having an A+L account then was irrelevant, its A+L who in January 2009 introduced the having had a A+L and/or Abbey account within the last .... months exclusion

I didnt even realise that Abbey 100.00 offer was still available.

Click on the "switch to Abbey" link on the page you posted
It seems to be less visible than even last week though, maybe phasing it out already!
