Amazing Vodafone rentention deal
They've just offered me a Blackberry Bold with 900mins, unlimited texts, unlimited internet/email (500mb fair use policy) for 22.50/month incl. VAT etc.
No other network could match this when I phoned them.
The question is, I'll be tied in for 18 months - what is Vodafone service like?
The customer services certainly don't seem as 'slick' when speaking to them on the phone - but the best value deal is ultimately what I'm after, providing the service works well.
My current tariff is on a Vodafone sim-only deal (purchased with quidco cashback) and calls/text service has been fine. With a high-end phone and mobile internet/email use - is Vodafone decent enough?

I've been with Vodafone for a while and service has always been good, had an issue once but after a complaint letter got it sorted pretty quickly.2p off is still 2p off!0

Thanks for your reply.
Why did you have to go as far as a complaint letter? Could customer services just not sort it over the phone?
That is my main concern at the moment - decent customer services.0 -
I was getting told different stuff about when my contract actually ended, couldn't be bothered with the hassle so e-mailed the CEOs office, got a pretty special deal after that2p off is still 2p off!0

Personally I find their customer service pretty dire and contradictory, anything beyond the normal/standard requests seems to always cause problems. Also the web-site access to your account can be a bit flakey in that half the info about your contract, un-billed calls never seems to be available. HOWEVER it's probably no worse than similar sized organisations and I'm still with them several years later.
On the plus side their coverage is one of the best0 -
Customer service on par with other networks, but much much much better than 3.
Service is actually better than O2 - surprisingly, but they are a good network.
Just hope they stay that way.0 -
How'd you get that deal. I was offered that deal with the storm @ £40pm??0

I've never had a problem with Vodafone CS.
Went to Spain and when I got back had a whopping bill for internet usage that I hadn't used (said I'd been online 24 hours a day for most of the holiday, though I hadn't and the "world sign" when you're connected was never on the phone).... They were very understanding and gave me very good advise throughout the investigation which had a good outcome.
I've also been unfortunate enough to be burdened with dodgy phones and they've sorted it out quickly and efficiently.
When I phone for an upgrede they always give me a better deal than I was on previously and always on the phone I wanted.
Sounds like they've offered you a great deal too!!!
I find them polite and helpful and hope they give me a good deal again on my upgrade next month so I stay with them (would never switch to Orange, must be the worst CS I have ever dealt with, so glad its just my DS PAYG phone!!)♥.0 -
I called to ask for a PAC code straight away - I had my mind set on the T-Mobile G1 for 31.50/month. The first guy kept asking what he could offer, and I said they couldn't as they don't do any Google phones. So he went away and said PAC code will be with me in a couple of days.
Then a day later someone else called (sales or retentions or whoever) and asked if all stops were out what would I want. So I said something really silly and low: "I want 1000 (thousand) mins, unlimited texts and a decent data amount for 15 a month, not botherered about the phone". The logic with that at the time was that it betters my sim-only price plan I had with them, and I could then buy whatever phone from ebay with the cost difference of getting the T-Mobile G1.
Anyway, he then straight away came back with the 22.50 deal for the BB Storm and I said no way to the Storm (have used in store, it's rubbish, and told them that). He asked what phone, told him that if he can do me the BB Bold on that price plan he has me as a customer. He went away, spoke to manager, and applied it on. Woo!
I then creamed the free itemised billing, free delivery and confirmed 18 month contract (had to be manually editted - I called back to another call center person and he confirmed the tariff name is normally 24months).
Apparently, even from talking to other Vodafone people, it is a good deal, as only a certain call center has the 'higher power' (their words) to apply some of the deals.
I am well pleasedI hope Voda don't let me down with their service.
Good luck to others. Maybe I could call back the guy who supplied me with this deal and ask if he can do it for others?0 -
sounds like a really good deal but if its good customer service you want i would'nt touch vodafone,!! though from other postings here seems all companieshave got good and bad points
