Motorola came out with the same 'water damage' excuse complete with a picture of the component damaged on the pcb. I only had the phone a week and it had yet to leave the house. There was no way that any moisture had got to the phone and I am certain that they figured it would take so long to repair properly it was not worth it(to them). So they fobbed me off. I have not bought a motorola since.
