Anyone got this phone and how is it? Thanks

Comments

  • I bought one from Play a couple of months ago for £56 via Quidco. I love it. I put an ASDA sim in it as they use the Vodafone network the phone is locked to and it works great. The Vodafone signal is very weak where I work compared to the Orange phone I had before. Uses the Opera web browser for web access.
I was put off a bit by the demo units they had in the phone shops. They were terrible quality. The actual phone is very good quality.

Ah thanks for that handy to know..so what is the benefit to putting the asda sim card in? is it cheaper..PAYG? i am wary on the signal tbh but think my friend has it and so am going to ask her first!
  • The advantage of the ASDA pay as you go SIM are the call prices.

    http://www.asda-mobile.com
    • 8p per minute
    • 4p per text
    • Same low cost to any UK mobile or standard fixed line phone, anytime
    • 20p per MB to surf the internet
    • 20p per minute to call any other country from the UK
I'm amazed at how long my credit is lasting. I thought browsing the web would cost a fortune but it seems to be really cheap. Calls and texts are the cheapest I've seen and I had no trouble transferring my old Orange number over to them.

-You can get the Asda SIM from your local store or get it online.
-To keep your number, you need to ring T-Mobile customer service for a PAC code which is valid for 30 days which enables you to bring your number to another network.
  • If you pick up a SIM card and ask them to put a £5 top up on it you get the SIM for free.
The SIM pack comes with a little booklet which explains how to transfer your number. It's just a matter of getting a code number from your old provider then phoning ASDA and telling them you want to transfer your number. The transfer took a few days and as soon as the transfer takes place you loose your old credit, so make sure you use it all up before you switch.

Both my home and work are in the blue area on the map. Signal is full strength at home but low to medium at work. There is a red area all around the village I live in but not on the village itself. The red just means the signal is 3G which is faster data transfer than the 2G standard signal (blue area). I only get that when I go into a town.
