How much do you spend on your weekly shopping?
It depends on the ages of you 4, where you live, what you liek to eat, and what shops you have available
Take a look at this older thread on people's budgets; it was started 18 months ago, since when prices have risen, but the more recent posts are still valid. I'll merge this later to keep ideas together.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

There are 3 of us and I usually spend about £35 - £40 a week - having said that I do grow most of my own veggies so I save quite a bit of money by doing so.0

The is only myself & Daisy the Cat & occasionally DGF.
I'd say including catfood & booze.I spend about £20-30 a week.I get my staples from Tesco (Cat food,Oxo,Beans,Booze ect) but meat I get from my local butcher as I feel it's better value. The is a pound shop in the town where I get things like biscuits, household detergents & bits n' bobs.
The Co in the town has reduced bread set out on a daily basis so I get that there,as it's not a big Co,I only use it for bits n' bobs.0 -

Hello All
There are two of us plus a hungry cat!
I usually spend £150 per month and am working on cutting that down, that includes everything from cleaning stuff to cat food to beer.
Works out at around £37 per week on a four week month or £30 per week if its a five week month.
Average spend is probably £34 per week, but trying to get this lower.

It varies, since I usually shop monthly and then stock up through the week for fresh stuff and milk, but probably about £50 ish, (per week) for 3 adults. ( and regularily visiting family) That includes all food, cleaning stuff and the odd present, bottle of wine and choccies. I could probably cut back a bit more if I had to.

There's just two of us both adults and we grow some veg. We have been spending up to £45 a week since January which included:
Food including the odd takeaway or wine plus coffee and bun / lunch out, drinks if we go to a pub (rare), toiletries and cleaning, wild bird seed.
That used to include newspapers and a regular monthly magazine which took us up to £200 a month but OH rarely bothers to put a newspaper in the trolley and gets his magazine on subscription using Mr T's clubcard deal now.
Growing some veg helps and we will be making our own wine, champagne and cordials from foraged plants this year starting this month. No longer half of Optimisticpair

There are 4 of us (both kids eat adult portions) plus hamster, chickens etc. We used to spend at least £150 a week, on all our food, cleaning stuff and toiletries, mainly at Asd@. Since trying to cut down we now spend about £100 a week, mainly at Asd@ but also tiny bits at Ald1/LidL to pick up veg and so on and occasional trips to Sainsbobs or Tesc0 if they have offers on things we use. When we start to grow our own veggies next year I would hope to reduce this bill still further.0
