Is this the most annoying weed?

It's creeping Cinquefoil in my garden. Awful stuff, gets everywhere.
Picture here. I have no idea how to do one of those posh clicky links, sorry!

After reading the competitors in this thread I'm counting myself very lucky that my worst weed problem is procumbent pearlwort.
The winner by a long way has got to be horsetail which seems to have no reliable method of eradication
If any of you have got this weed, and are of a nervous disposition, please dont read the details of the plant on the following link. http://www.t-c-m-rd.co.uk/invasive-weeds/horse-tail/
I found some bits quite scary : "A 10cm length of rhizome has been shown to be able to produce 64 metres of new rhizome within one year" and "I have read anecdotal evidence that horsetail rhizome has been found to a depth of more than 50 metres in brick earth workings"0 -

Your description sounds about right.
But when I googled it the photos look like Snapdragons and not a bit like the stuff I have.No reliance should be placed on the above.0 -
My pet hate in my garden is oxalis.
Looks fairly innocuous - cute pink flowers and pretty clover like leaves, but beware - it self seeds and multiplies underground through tiny bulblets, gets in my compost and suddenly all my conservatory plants have it growing in the pots. Its a nightmare!!!!
My other favourite moan is cranesbill, I think its a type of native geranium, self seeds everywhere, has horrible seeds that gets tangled in pet fur and sticks to everyone else like "love hearts" and it stinks of cat pee when you pull it up! Yuck! Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

My garden is over-run with some stinky white allium things - very pretty but they spread like wildfire. We've tried smothering, industrial strength glyphosate and digging up, no luck! I'll have to sieve the soil to remove every tiny bulb.0

We've got horsetail and have been trying to get rid of it for years. Seems to be invincable. Tried Glyphosphate and still comes up.
The problem with using glyphosate on horsetail is the fact that the leaves are very thin and shiny so the spray does not stick to it very well. The trick is to damage the weed first, try jumping on it, hitting it with a spade or anything that knocks it about a bit and then spray it.0 -
Might be Herb Bennet (Geum urbanum) - also known as Wood Avens - seeds stick like the devil!
Thanks, but not that.
Decided to look through invasive garden weeds in google and after viewing everyone this one came up as the last I looked at,
Creeping Wood Sorrel
And that's what it is.
And I think it's a type of oxalys for angeladavies above. No reliance should be placed on the above.0 -

If you can't beat it, eat it...
As long as you are SURE you can POSITIVELY IDENTIFY your troublesome weed, you may be surprised to find a lot of them have edible or medicinal uses:
Have a look HERE for info.
All the best!
