I have a column of names. I want the column to the left of it to be numbers. Is there a way of automatically putting them in or do I have to type them?0

Type 1 next to the first name, 2 next to the second name, highlight both cells & drag down the little + (plus) on the bottom right hand corner to the bottom of your list & it (should) number them all (fingers crossed)Don't Take Life too Seriously - Nobody gets out alive :rotfl:0 -

The way Inky says works, although you might have to click on the little box that appears to the right (auto fill options) and select 'fill series' to get a sequence of numbers.
The other way is to type =ROW(A1) in the first box and then drag the cross down to the bottom of your list and that will number them all in sequence.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
