    Hi Guys,
Still looking for unusal ideas for my wedding to make it a bit different.

Love this idea..it is a candy (american!) buffet.....like pick and mix but without the horror of having to pay for the weight of fudge!

What do we think? Tacky or nice?? I would try and do it in the colours of my wedding if possible...currently pink and chocolate...

I have done alot of waiting at weddings and have seen these sweet buffets they do down very well.
The thing I really liked at one wedding was on the table with the cake they had pictures of the past 2/3 generations of weddings.

We went to a friends wedding where they had done the sweets and it was great. They had bought loads of glass vases from Ikea that are less than £1 each, looked great tasted even better

My mum then relented and said if it was done nice it could be good. Does anyone reading this thread really not like it? We wont jump on you if you dont, just wondering why?

We're 20's-30's...do you think the 50+ age group would like it too as we're likely to have a fair few of them there??

I'm 26 and not really a fan myself. Sorry.

It looks very commercial and like your mum said, a bit tacky. I can imagine it would go down very well with most guests, young and old alike, but you have the problem with E-numbers and colourings (which a fair few people are allergic to these days)

But it's each to their own isn't it, if it makes your day stand out (which it would) then go for it.

  • Retro sweets do go down well at weddings ( We had them nearly 3 years ago ;) )

How about instead of table numbers have each table named after a retro sweet and then have some of the said sweets for the guests on that table ? You will find after they have all eaten they will pop around other tables to see what sweeties are left. Top that off with a sweetie table plan

Then dont forget you dessert buffet for the night time guests :)
