mobile network charges help

Hi people, I wonder if anyone can help me with a few questions i have regarding mobile networks.

For the past 5 years or so I have been on 3 (Three), and so I'm unaware about other networks.

Can some people who are using Orange, Vodafone and O2 tell me whether the networks charge for text delivery notifications and voicemail? As far as I am aware, I have never been charged for either by 3.

Also, is there any way to check your remaining minutes/texts on these networks? Something similar to the "my three" service?

o2 payg: o2 don't have delivery reports but you get a delivery receipt if you prefix your text with *0#, this is free

voicemail is 10p per call

you can ring 4444 option 2,2 or text balance to 20202

if you are on contract with o2 voicemail is free but as ivinsp said the o2 network does not support delivery notification

On Orange contract voice mail is free, delivery reports are 1p.
