Cost of an Everest front door

Hello,

We've ordered an Everest composite front door and I'm interested to know if anyone has, within the last 12 months, done the same and what price did you pay?

A neighbour had an everest door fitted recently £2160:eek: for JUST the door I don't know her well enough to look closely at it but I think that is outrageous.

Well ours was significantly less than that. I know we could have chosen a much cheaper local company, so I'm some what frustrated I did not seek additional quotes, but the Everest door is made to measure, rather than an off the shelf standard size.

My friend had a couple of everest windows fitted, she reckons that the quality of the pvc is better than some she has seen, so, if you can afford it go for it, but did you do a bit of haggling over the price? they always seem to come down in price when you do that.

They can well afford to, and still make a fortune.;)

List price was £3569 inc VAT and fitting, total we're paying is £1584 inc VAT and fitting, it should be fitted within the next two weeks (been waiting since early December).

In total the salesman applied a discount of about 56%. But how realistic is the list price? I find it hard to believe people are paying £3500 for a single door.

Door is composite, royal blue, oval shaped privacy glass at the top, spy hole, silver "door furniture" as they call it (door knob, letter box etc ..)

It will be 1000x better than our current old wood door. Our current door is so bad my partner can barely open it as its expanded.

My grandparents had Everest in for a quote. It started at £25,000, and with them saying nothing dropped to £12,000. They didn't respond to accept the offer, and at a second visit Everest dropped the price to £10,000. Unfortunately they accepted this quote - a local company would do it for less than that again. They paid a £2000 deposit. We've had it verbally that they can cancel and have a refund, but as yet no response to the letter that was sent (special delivery). When I was talking to the manager about cancelling, he even said they were going to provide A rated windows instead of the B rated windows they'd been quoted for - in a previous call he was going on about how the quote was so keen and he didn't know how the salesman had done it, yet in the second call he was making it even better.

Basically you can't trust a word they say. They probably take the real cost and quadruple it, then see how low you'll go. Going off other reports on the web, they're a company to avoid.

Anybody know a number for their head office, other than the sales number?

The door is composite and is made to measure, not off the shelf upvc. I know upvc can be fitted for under £500, loads in the local paper.
