Ive just inherited the exact same problem on my car.
It happened before and I took it to a garage who charged £40 for god knows what but it did fix the problem. However, Im not gonna spend that much money on it this time! Instead, I realised you can buy heater fans that run off your cig lighter socket that do pretty much the same thing - Im gonna go for that as as solution - they cost around £10-£15 on lineBismillah0 -

they hardly give off any heat, and as for keeping the windows demisted :rotfl:

Yup the blowers built in are really powerful things, hold one in your hand then turn it on, a good healthy jolt from them

Be very careful if you are going to do this...!!! I bought one for my car as our heater blower stopped working and it worked for a few days but then melted the cigarette lighter wire.. and took the rear demister with it..!!!!
If you are going to use a plug in one please make sure your cigarette lighter can cope with it before you do!!!
Luckily we found if we kicked our car in a strategic place (near the fan unit) the fan started!! We were quoted £400 to fix the fan because of the awkward position and the cost of the new fan. (yeek..)
We have since replaced the car!
