Heres an idea if your struggling, dont buy non essentials like Sky.

You are being judged because despite the fact you have already been bankrupt you still take the !!!! whilst claiming benefits.

Not judging the OP at all, but if you have a Sky dish and box you can have freesat. Just ask Sky to disconnect you and you can still pick up the free channels through your Sky dish and box. I did this 18 months ago.

Being bankrupt doesn't stop you getting a bank account, open a basic account with direct debit facilities.

To be honest if i was B/R id get rid of sky or virgin and just go with freeview, i wouldnt have any luxuries, theres more important things to spend money on like heating, food and drink(non alcoholic kind)

And Im Not Setting Up A Direct Debt As If There Is 5 Weeks In A Month It Will Throw The Payments Out And I Do Buy My Heating See The First Post I Put On

Thanks pimento, that's a good tip for anyone who doesn't know about that.

And Noz, if you read the post properly, the issue is not about not having a bank account for the direct debit, its about the fact that the d/d date is not going to always coincide with the dates that cozza gets benefit, therefore the d/d would be returned if there was no money and she would get charged which is a sensible thing to avoid.

and dcfc79, I have already said above what obstacles there might be to just going with freeview (freesat is obviously now an option thanks to Pimento)

Thanks but I have read the post correctly. In post I quoted, cozza made the point that not everyone can have a bank account as one reason why the DD charge isn't fair and I responded to this very point.

Anyway, the point seems mute anyway as cozza doesn't actually have Sky anymore.
