Has anyone managed to find ANYTHING by using the search facility?
I have no trouble on any other site be it shopping, techie sites or anything else but on MSE general or chat forum - no result or stream of irrelevent articles.
I have tried all the seach tips & searched for subjects which I can see have just been posted but still no joy,
I am sure it's not just me as I have enlisted the aid of others & still am no closer to cracking the mystery.
WHAT'S THE TRICK !!!!!

The tricks are, if you know which board the thread/post is on try the search on that board first rather than the whole forum.
Second tip is don't use capitals.
Third is words must be longer than 3 characters.
Oops, the fourth is of course, check out sra's very helpful MSE A-Z

There have been times when the facility has not worked at all & seems to have been switched off, perhaps during recent trouble with servers since searches take up bandwidth.
But usually I find it OK, as long as you remember El's advice.0 -
Thats when you use * as in *sky all explained in sra's post that I linked to above

But, yes, sometimes it is a hit or a miss
