More than 3 children??

I have just found out that if you live in the Anglian Water area (it may be the same for other areas too) and have 3 or more children in full time education or younger and are on certain benefits then you are entitled to cheaper water charges.

Be warned you will have to have a water meter to access this help! This is great whilst you get the help but as soon as you no longer get the benefits or only have 2 eligible children (ie 3 under 19) you are no longer entitled to the help and this can be a real shock. My bills went from £28 per month with help to £58 per month once my eldest went to Uni and if you have had the meter more than a year they won't take it out!
  • Yes you are correct but I have a water meter anyway so its still cheaper!
  • Its called Watersure and the capped charge is around £310 per year
So the water company will not bill you any higher than that.
But remember you have to use more than £310 per year of water to benifit from it
Helping people lower there water usage and water bills

Type Headsabovewater into you search engin for more help.

£58 a month. That is a really high water bill even with teenagers.

Exactly! Unfortunately my Water Company is Wessex and since we are on the coast we pay extra to keep it the sea clean for all the tourists (who don't pay!). I've put water hippo's in the loo's,I've got an A rated Washing Machine. I intend to get a shower if I can find someone who won't charge me a fortune for installing it!! Anyone got some more water saving tips - and no I won't go down to the river to do the washing!
