I would guess so morri..having 'registered' , you would still get the preferred rate.
I myself have run out of money but will send in when have enough. £500 minmum. You can't lend a hundred can you .Pay you back pension day. ROTFL0 -

I would be surprised if any of the offshore banks in IOM or Channel Isles would allow the instant online account processing allowed onshore.
Being tax havens they are carefully and constantly scrutinised for money laundering and have had to give reassurances to the international authorities and in particular the US, that all steps will be taken to prevent money laundering or funds getting to countries like Iran ( which is effectively blacklisted by the US ).
The downside for customers is that this prevents easy account switching to get the best rates current as it normally takes ages and ages to be approved.
Anyone had a differnt experience ?0 -
Egg application was instant for me, very impressed!0

I applied last friday, got the documents Wednesday and sent them back yesterday.I am sure they will deal with the back log of all outstanding applications, the first step is to stop any further applications via the website. They probably get a rough idea from when you fill it in online as to when they will be fully subscribed. It was only open a week!!not surprising really.0 -
Tesco may be a bit slow to finalise the account, but within days my cheque was cashed my account open and ready to pay in money. I have set up a monthly deposit and have moved money into it on a few occasions. It is a savings account after all, and once there will be left to build on with other deposits and earn the best rate of interest around.Mortgage free

Tescos has taken over from RBS, maybe thats why its slow because they are learning the ropes0

A&L eSaver issue 2 (or something like that). Applied in November, got an email 2 days ago saying they were pleased to let me know that it had been opened !!!!!! Receive the details in due course........
That's DESPITE being an EXISTING A&L customer - eSaver issue 1 from which I withdrew all £49k at the same time as applying for the issue 2. Needless to say it was happily homed somewhere else.
Oh, and of course I did make the normally number of phone calls in the meantime....and in the meantime I think they actually withdrew it and launched issue 3......
Halifax I've also found difficult, but primarily with ISAs not other accounts.
My experience with YBS was less good however. I tried to take out one of their fixed rate 'ebonds?' a number of months ago. They couldn't confirm and complete the transaction online, required me to print stuff off and send it in. In the meantime they were dropping rates and for expediency I put the money elsewhere. Probably why I haven't tried again with their internet saver.0 -
Similar story here:
on Thursday 15th Jan, sent out application for Cheshire BS's 2 year fixed rate bond, and West Bromwich Ebond15.
On Friday 16th Jan, sent out application for fixed rate capped bond issue 7 with Northern Rock.
By Tuesday 20th, received the bond certificate for NR bond, and cash cleared out of my account.
Heard from Cheshire on friday 23rd, asking for ID, so took the ID to my local branch. No cash has moved as yet.
Have heard NOTHING from west brom. I realise that Northern Rock has limited services so they are less busy, while cheshire and west brom are swamped with applications, but it does make you worry when a building society doesn't get back to you for so long.0 -
I have similar good experiences with Egg and Norwich & Peterborough, as well as Nat West. My Tesco experience is similarly frustrating - I sent a cheque as requested whilst opening the account (£500), which has yet to be processed, so I've got to keep appropriate funds in my current account to cover that for an extended period, and can't forget it is still pending,0
