Loft condensation

Options
Hi.
After a few months of not going into the loft we went in to get the baby bath down (for the new one) and noticed a lot of condensation in the loft. This has only really started since we had loft insulation put in and there are black spots all over the ply used to board out the loft over the insulation. Any suggestions on what we can do to reduce the condensation?
Thanks in advance.

You need to try to stop as much warm air as you can from rising into the loft.

Make sure your loft opening has draught excluder around it and that the lid/hatch has fastenings which enable the lid to be closed tightly as opposed to simply sitting loose.

Make sure when you bathe or shower there is adequate ventilation to help the steam to escape. Consider installing an extractor fan if you do not have one already.

Make sure the insulation in the loft is not laid right to the very edge where it may be blocking the air. Pull it back a little if it is.

If things are really bad (as they were with us - we had water dripping from the roof insulation :() you may also have to get air vents installed in your roof either side, to increase the air flow.
