Well, I am lucky enough to be in the position of having no debt, but I enjoy reading this board so much (for the positive attitudes, great advice and nice people) that I felt I should have a target. It came about because I have finished University a year ago, own my own car but that's all. I felt I needed to get some money behind me, so targeted £8,000 my the end of this year.
I'm not sure what I'll put the money towards, but I can see it eventually be used towards a house deposit. I live at home at the moment, so it is an ideal oppurtunity to save whilst I enjoy low rent and few bills. My wage is only £15K, so it is a challenging target, but one I feel I am going to enjoy chasing. Hopefully, the NHS AfC may help me out and give me some much deserved backpay!Personal ISA Contributions Challenge - current £0 (as at 1 April 2014) / target £15,000 (deadline 31 Mar 2015)0 -

£9.47 on ingredients for cooking a chinese meal for father-in-law instead of buying a chinese/indian/pizza like we usually do every Sunday.
(Going to do a roast for him next week & make our own pizzas the following week finishing with an Indian from the Co-op but cooking our own rice adding an Indian stock cube).
Not allowed to spend ANY MORE on food until Feb!0 -
Hi all
Well, nothing spent today - all 3 of us went out to watch rugby game - so petrol I suppose - but tank was already full. Had no actual cash - deliberate tactic here - so borrowed £10 from daughter in case we had to buy a drink. Nothing to get in when we got there, free cups of tea & a free meal of curry, rice & spuds (!) Got home & gave daughter her £10 back!
Tomorrow is shopping day so that will change: and now - Aims for the week:
- spend less than £50 on food
- call NTL to see if we can get a reduction on their packages
- Call ALL cc companies ditto
- call bank to ask if they have a cheaper account
- list more on eBay
- get a cheaper house ins quote
wish me luck & thanks to all the people who have helped
