Alliance & Leicester are they slow?

Just out of interest I applied for a new current account and it was accepted, but it was 7 days ago and not heard a thing since then, are they quite slow?
thanks

    I know its not A&L and different banks can have different periods of time to receive the card and pin number. But when I opened my Halifax account I got my pin first within a couple of days, a few days later I got my card. My Barclays account I opened on Wednesday, got the pin today so that is 3 days, and not got the card but it says within 7 days.

    So I suspect if you have not even got a pin number correspondence, to contact your local branch to see if they can see how far down the line your application is. It might be a case your card or pin has been lost in the post. Or needs some sort of ID to be confirmed in branch. Not sure. But best bet is if you haven't heard anything in a week, go in branch or ring up their call centre to see what is happening. because you generally should have received your pin. Unless this is just a busy time and it is taking them a while to get through all the applications.

    Can I just ask anyone who has received their yet, is the online banking customer ID number sent in a separate letter? I've had my welcome letter with account numbers and brochure, my card, my PIN, my online banking passcode, and my chequebook. But I can't find anywhere that says my online banking ID. Will I get that separately or am I being blind?

    I can't say what A&L do but here is what happened at Halifax and Barclays.

    Barclays - signed up my account, same day I received an email with my ID number to use as my username if you will. My online banking details were sent to me on Friday so that was two days after signing up. That contained the password. So in this case I got the username via an email and password via a letter.

    Halifax - When I registered for online banking they sent me an email with my username, and a letter with my password came a few days later.

    But if you don't have your customer ID you can go to this link;

    https://www.mybank.alliance-leicester.co.uk/login/SR1.asp

    If that doesn't work go to the main site, click log in, and then forgotten your customer ID. It takes you to the link above were it asks you for your current account or savings account number, and it also asks you for your date of birth. Not sure what happens after that but I assume they will send you your customer ID. Either that or you can ring up their call centres.

    Because for me so far, the two banks I've signed up with have sent my customer ID via email. So maybe they have sent it to your email, if not, try the above and see if you can get your ID that way :)

    I applied on line and it was a week and half before I got anything. Just waiting for my card and online banking number now then I'm up and running. Pin for online banking arrived but cant get online as haven't received letter with online number yet, even though letter says I will have received it , think they've sent out in wrong order lol.

    .......Yes
    Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.
