JP Morgan boss just lashed out 11.5 million $ on company stock, maybe we are reaching a turning point.

It is interesting that that this trade preceded the market movement in UK banks

lol, I like the tongue in cheek. I have been steadily buying in the sipp, over the last 2 weeks, all good solid companies that can withstand world volatility. Majority have good divis and last 5 bought yesterday morning

I will make a pledge here and now, based purely on my own personal hunch: RBS, Lloyds, and Barclays will all still be trading as private companies in 6 months time. All of them will have share prices at least 10% higher than their levels as of today.

I will quote myself in 6 months ish time on this.

Why didn't I have the balls to go with my hunch?! RBS shares up to 24.5p today. I'd have more than doubled my money already. Is it too late to jump on the bandwagon?

Hope not, I'm still down 20% overall although everyone else seems to have timed it perfectly.

What kind of value of corporate losses / failures are you expecting to come through in the recession?
Mr Brown refused, but conceded: “I’ve said all along that this is a deep recession.” It was the first time the Prime Minsiter had spoken of the recession being deep..

Take care - markets are still jittery, and the US releases economic growth data tomorrow that could be pretty bad, and if so, will badly impact share prices for a couple of days.

Yep, unemployment out in about 5 mins, that shouldn't be pretty, along with durable goods
Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!

For people who bought barclays shares in the last week or so....Have you still held on to them? Have you sold them? How long will you hold on to them for?

I bought some barclays shares and i am unsure as to whether to cash on or hold them in for the long term.

Background info; i am only 23 and i usually invest in funds but i decided to buy some barclays shares when they were down low. As a novice i wouldnt mind if someone gave me some general info on what they think about bank shares...etc. (yes i have read the thread).
