how to take of the headset sign on the 6630?
Options
Please help.
My Nokia 6630 is not working. The problem is that it is fuctioning correctly ie I can make calls or receive them but the problem is that I cant hear anyone and no one can hear me. There is a "headphone" symbol on on the fron screen and I think that is the problem. But I have tried everything but I cant take that symbol off the screen.
I am sure that when that sign is taken off then the sound will work again. It sees as though that handset free sign is on and thus the normal voice or speaker is not functioning. But I cant take or turn this off.
Surely someone can help on this. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried switching the phone off / removing the battery and powering it up again? You're Damned If You Do & You're Damned If You Don't :doh:0

The only thing I can think of trying, is to go into settings>profiles and changing the profile to outdoor, or general.... I know on my n70 there is profile for the headset.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Have you set up a hands free set via bluetooth (i.e. in the car) ??
I know that the same happens to me when I am at home, if I don't switch off my car kit, the phone is still within it's range and remains 'hands free' until I switch the unit off.
If you haven't set one up, check in your bluetooth to see if you are 'connected' to any other devices....0 -
I have never used bluetooth or headset on the phone. I have tried turning it off taken the battery out, changed the profile, but the damned sign still stays on - I dont know how to get rid off it....anyone out there knows how to take the stupid sign off?0

The only other thing I can suggest is to make sure you have gone into bluetooth settings and turned off your connectivity (Visibility - Hidden).
If this does not help... Have you owned the phone from new? Other forums seem to suggest that if a headset has ever been connected, it needs to be reconnected and then the battery removed. After switching back on you then remove the headset again.
Do you have a headset (or can you use another) to try this method?0 -
I know it sounds dumb, but have you tried plugging in the headphones and then unplugging them and seeing if this helps.
I know a few years ago I had a 6210, and the microphone broke, it that is the case, it should be covered on your phone insurance, or manufacturer's warranty.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
