Asda deal not coming off at the till

Hi never thought of looking on the website but still think it is the stores problem as they clearly have it marked up wrong!! Its not just that there is stripping underneath all of the bottles saying any 2 for £5 but the individual labels for each bottle with the description and price also say in yellow any 2 for £5 including both kinds of Woodys. Went in today and it was still marked up wrong despite us telling them yesterday so in the end managed to get two £2 gift cards. Did have to mention it to the lady at customer services though as she wasnt about to offer them to me! Also went in armed with my Asda magazine where it was marked clearly towards the back of the mag! Thanks bubblegumcola for that tip!! Oh and they didnt change it after we left either so if anyone else fancies some free money from Asda then you know what to do lol!! Looks like they have been lining their pockets a long time from unsuspecting customers!!0

Hi, I was overcharged on Cravendale milk (bought 4) and realised after I got home. I went back the next day and was told that the offer does not apply and its on full price! They denied that the milk was on offer and had taken the reduced price tag off the aisle! I contacted head office and was issued a 3GBP gift card and this barely covers the overcharge. I rang cs and was told to post my receipt and the gift card back to head office! My question is do they issue a 2GBP gift card per item overcharged? Thanks in advance0

Hi just had a look in the Asda magazine January 2009 page 95 (thanks again to bubblegumcola for pointing this out!) and it says
"ASDA RIGHT PRICE GUARANTEE
We're committed to offering low prices on all the products we sell. So if you find that you've been charged a higher price for any product than the price displayed, we will offer a sincere apology, refund the difference in the price charged and also give you a £2 Asda Gift Card (one per transaction) to say sorry!"
So looks like you would only have got one £2 gift card and obviously the difference that they overcharged you in the first place. I hope this helps you.
My husband was also worried that they would have taken the offer off the next day by the time we got back to the store. We called them on the number on the receipt and they confirmed the overcharge and told us to bring in our receipt. Although it looks like Asda like to deny they have done anything wrong on many occassions and it seems also very difficult to get the £2 gift card which is their policy!! In future will be keeping a copy of the magazine handy when shopping there!0 -
I was over charged at my local ADSA last weekend. I went to CS who gave me a refund no problem, but never mentioned anything about the £2 gift card. When I said 'isn't there a gift card for being over charged?' she said she was just going to process it, hmmmm....
But I always carry in my handbag a copy of this...

then if CS turn round and say they have stopped giving the gift cards I can just show them the last item on the print out. I usually re print it every months or so, so ASDA can't say it's out of date (print it out using FILE, then PRINT so the date of printing is at the bottom of the page)
I hope this helps

I believe when I worked in Asda (4 1/2 years ago) the worse a stock take was or the more gift cards given out by the store for wrongly priced items the LOWER THE BONUS we got.
The problem with this is that it encourages the staff to FORGET to give the gift card out.
The bonus was never a fantastic amount anyway, but then with the rubbish wages they paid (£4.71 when i left) every little counts.
So really in my opinion it is the company policies that encourage the stores to cheat us.0 -
The £2 gift cards do not effect the bonus. I work on a customer service desk in my local Asda and always give the £2 without prompting. I also then make it my business to get the error put right so as I don't have to pay out loads more £2s for the same error. Our store is due for our full bonus so the £2s I give away have not made any difference but as I said we tend to put the errors right in our store as soon as we are made aware of them.
I don't know why some people make it hard for themselves by not obeying the rules as we get enough flack on the desk without looking for trouble. In my experience customers really appreciate the gesture and if it helps make my store their store of choice, which helps keep me in a job.

Reading the new Adsa store magazine (March) I can't see the Right Price guarantee in the small print, in fact there doesn't seem to be much small print except for competitions. Am I missing it, or has it been removed from the magazine? I relied on that to wave at the CS desk when I was querying overcharges, it was so easy to pick up the mag and show them the printed word. I'll have to start carrying a print-out from the website instead.0

I was overcharged on shampoo today ( £1.21 x 2), queued at CS Folkestone for the refund. Nothing extra offered, so I asked for the "gift card". Young lad looked sheepish and gave me a xmas saver plastic card on a leaflet. Sat in my car feeling dubious about it so went back and bought something - card was indeed loaded with £2.
First time I've ever had a card out of many times queuing at cs. Didn't know about it till I read about it on MSE

offer didn't come off for bruschetta in Asda yesterday (2 for £1.50 or 98p each) so went to cs, immediate refund of 34p and I asked for the £2 giftcard and got it; don't think they would have offered if I hadn't asked.0
