Asda deal not coming off at the till

Hi Guys I am presuming this is the right thread as I had a look and other misprices are posted here tho if its not then could someone please move the thread thanks
Anyway in Asda they have a deal on all their large bottles of alcopops including wkd, smirnoff ice, woodys and breezers which was any 2 bottles for £5. Last week we picked up the this deal and got one bottle of WKD and one bottle of Woodys and the deal did not come off at the till we noticed when we got home and presumed it had to be two of the same kind.
Today we picked up two bottles of Woodys and again the deal did not come off at the till unfortunately we forgot to check and again only noticed when we got home. My husband called the number on the receipt as we couldn get back down today due to him going to work and they said to bring in the receipt next time and they would rectify the problem.
Now my query is do Asda just give back the overcharge? I am sure I read somewhere about a £2 gift card when you were wrongly charged. Also how long has this been going on without people noticing? More money straight into Asdas pocket! As far as I am aware it has been happening for at least two weeks which is crazy.
I know its not as good as a tesco dtd spot but I hope it helps someone or encourages someone to double check that all the deals came off at the till I know I will def be checking before leaving the store in the future!!

Yes, they should give you a £2 gift card for the mistake.
I find our Customer Services usually tries to wrap up the refund transaction without giving this card voluntarily (as though the money comes out of their bonus!) but a gentle enquiry of 'don't I get a £2 gift card for the mistake?' produces an 'oh yes, I was just going to do that for you' and they carry on and sort you the £2 refund card out.A chicken crossing the road is poultry in motion0 -
My local is really bad for the deals not going through, it's seems to be a regular thing with asda, always check the deal has worked and yes you can get a £2 card if it didn't.Kat :money:0

i had this same problem when i got overcharged in my local asda. i was told by 2 members of staff that asda no longer give £2 gift card and that it had stopped 3 months ago. i did not believe them so i contacted asda online customer services and guess what then still do give the gift cards, i then requested asda to sent me the one i had missed out on. and they did. so where do the gift cards that are not given out go?0

Thanks for your quick replies I can now go in tomorrow armed with my information to get my £2 gift card! Exactly Sanran I presume the £2 cards they do not give out just line their pockets along with the original misprices!0

When I contacted CS because I was overcharged and the store refused to give me a £2 giftcard they sent me a £5 one to apologise![STRIKE]CC1: £354.35 / £354.35[/STRIKE]
CC2: £390 / £1475.98
Boiler: £1500 / £2500
[STRIKE]Overdraft: £1000 / £1000[/STRIKE]
Emergency Fund : £200 -
You are entitled to a gift card for 2 quid. I was overcharged for nappies on offer and got my refund, then was at home reading their Asda mag and it tells you at the back in all the small print that you are entitled to this if you are overcharged. I emailed their head office and was sent one in the post.
Maybe the stores are penalised if they give out too many gift cards as apologies for overcharging cos it means someone isn't doing the ticketing correctly or adjusting the tills properly with new deals. If they try to fob you off in the future just point it out at the back of their own magazine!!0 -
Is it true that if you go through a self-scan till and an item goes through at the wrong price, then you don't get the £2 gift card? I was told this recently by CS. Apparently because you have the opportunity to see the price before you pay

oh thats cheeky if its true, luckily we went through a normal till. At the self scan tho you may see the prices if you scan but then the multi buys are took off at the end and you dont actually see the receipt till you have paid! Possibly another CS trying to make an excuse so they dont have to issue the £2 card like the other posters have said above!!0

What annoys me is that the 'deals' at the bottom (where it shows you what it is that you've bought and what you've saved on) doesn't always relate.
I had one at Christmas where I thought i'd been overcharged. I bought some drinks and it was like
Drink - 2.00
Drink - 2.00
Drink - 2.00
Drink - 2.00
etc instead of say 2 for £3 and at the bottom it didn't say what it was, so I toddled to Customer Service where as she went through my reciept and pointed out something like:
'Chocolate - saved so much'
"... it's drink, not chocolate."
"Yeah, sometimes they don't tally. But there's your saving."
And as it did match and I wasn't out of pocket I left it- but it does seem daft them having the policy when what they're selling doesn't match up with what there is - if you get me.Homer: Don't you worry about Wikipedia. We'll change it when we get home.
We'll change a lot of things.0 -
According to Asda website, Woodys is not included in the offer.(".)0
